Year In Review: Timothy Liljegren.

Since being drafted in the 1st round in 2017 Liljegren has been on most Leafs fans radars.

The 6′ 195lb RH defenseman had another steady season for The Marlies however not the season he himself would have envisioned.

Playing in The AHL under the age of 20 is a difficult task, and although the Swedes numbers haven’t been where he wanted them to be it was a extremely good conditioning year.

Much like Jeremy Bracco a season ago, Liljegren’s focus was more on bulking himself up and preparing himself to compete at a pro level.

As in his report since game day Timothy will remain a high risk/high reward style defender, very similar to Jake Gardiner.

2017/2018 – 44GP 1G 16A +12

2018/2019 – 43GP 3G 12A -8

I would not expect to see Liljegren in a Leafs jersey in 2019-2020 as he is a player that could greatly benefit from another season under Keefe.
