Maple Leafs use luck of the Irish for wild 7-6 win over Flyers.

On a night that began to turn much like their previous two games the leafs found themselves down 5-2 at the midway point of the game, only this time they completed their comeback.

With 2 late 2nd period goals The Maple Leafs (Pats) found themselves down just a goal with all the momentum, paving the path for star center Auston Matthews to shine. Shine he did, after a 1st period goal overturned Matthews would not be denied. With 5 mins to go in the 3rd Nylander dug a puck out along the boards and found Auston outfront to give The Leafs their 1st lead of the night and just 2 mins and 21 seconds later he would strike again to give the buds a 2 goal lead. His 2nd of the night would go on to be the winner as former Leaf JVR would make it 7-6 for his hattrick.

This win moved the Leafs within 2 points of Boston for home ice in round 1 of the Stanley Cup playoffs, both having played 71 games apiece.

Leafs will wear their St Pats jerseys again tonight when they travel to Ottawa to take on The Senators.
