Although it may have been an ugly ending last night the Maple Leafs hung on to have a very impressive west trip. They defeat the Calgary Flames 6-2 on Monday, lost in OT to the Canucks Wednesday, and defeated the Oilers 3-2 last night on Hockey Night In Canada.
When the Leafs return to Toronto they will prepare themselves for one of their hardest tests of the season in the NHL’s best team The Tampa Bay Lightning.
However in their 2 previous meetings it has been one of our more even matchups with both teams winning a game a piece and a slight goal margin for Tampa out scoring Toronto 6-5 in those 2 games.
Toronto’s Leading scorer Mitch Marner (82 points) will square off against the NHL’s point leader Nikita Kucherov (110 points) while we will have an NHL elite goaltenders battle between Frederik Andersen and Andrei Vasilevskiy Monday night.
The Maple Leafs currently sit 3rd in The Atlantic, 4 points back of Boston and 4th in the entire NHL.
